Who knew that an appetizer could be this simple, yet so sophisticated. These Spicy Sausage and Bacon Appetizers are loaded with an amazing combination of flavors that will please anyone in the room.
Have you ever spent hours in the kitchen preparing appetizers? Confession – I used to buy pre-made appetizers and heat them up. Now that we have multiple food allergies in our house (and in our lives) we make all of our appetizers from scratch. You know that I’m big on keeping things simple. I don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen. And I’m sure you don’t want to either.
Appetizers are needed year round not just during the holidays. With Appetizers like these Spicy Sausage and Bacon Appetizers you can serve them at almost any occasion. Holidays, dinner parties, b-day parties, cocktail parties – you get the idea. The key is finding an easy appetizer that works with any occasion. One that’s simple and uses as few ingredients as possible. Spoiler alert – This recipe uses only four ingredients.
I’m so very in love with First Fresh Chicken Sausage and I can’t get enough of their Hot Italian Sausage. I knew when I tried them that they would be amazing as an appetizer. I sliced the whole package into little rounds, wrapped them with bacon and cooked them until they were nice and crispy. I topped them with a mild goat cheese and apricot preserves. Oh my goodness! They were spicy, they were savory, and they were sweet. And they’re super dangerous and hard to stop eating.
This recipe makes 25 little bacon wrapped sausages and they are SO EASY to pop into your mouth and enjoy.
We were invited to a cocktail party (the kind where you have to wear a skirt..mmm-hmm… you know what I’m saying?). Being that the party was border line black-tie, I wanted to bring an appetizer that matched the theme and wowed the other guests. I made two batches of these Spicy Sausage and Bacon Appetizers. Of course they were a big hit.
People thought I must have slaved over these tasty little appetizers. In all honesty, it took me about ten minutes to get them in the oven. Once they were cook, I topped them with a dollop of goat cheese, a spoonful of preserves and put a cute toothpick in the center. They were super easy and they couldn’t have tasted any more amazing than they did.
