Pressure Cooker Carrots
If you're a fan of pressure cooker recipes then you're going to love these quick and easy instant pot carrots. They are the best pressure cooker carrots! I like to add a little butter and dill to mine but you can leave the dill out if you prefer.
It takes about 15 minutes from start to finish to cook carrots in instant pots. While the cooking cycle is only a couple minutes long you need to add time for the instant pot to come to pressure. Also, it takes a couple minutes to sauté the carrots in butter and dill at the end.
You can always enjoy your carrots plain. You don't have to sauté them if you don't want to. We recommend it though as it adds a lot of flavor.

Store the leftover carrots in a sealed container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. You can also place them in a vacuum sealed bag in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Do I need to use a steamer basket to make instant pot carrots?
No, you don't have to use a steamer basket. You can add the water and the carrots directly into the inserted pan in your instant pot. I like to use the steamer basket because it helps with even cooking and it's easier to clean up.

I have a question about the recipe (I haven't made it yet):
Can you use any steamer basket or is it specific to the instant pot?
chrystal
Yes, any metal steamer basket that fits. We use a folding one (pictured) that we also use in a big pot. Just be careful if you remove the basket from the IP while it's hot.
Best,
Chrystal

Crystal, thank you! 6 years ago the original Chef here made diced carrot this way. My Great grandson just learning to feed himself pâté a heaping sauce dish full with sheer delight!
Gone: through 5 Chefs later. Your recipe shows up here and I am sure he used dried dill & butter. Will be making it for sure:
