You can add more or less spice to make it exactly the way you want. For a cheesy chili, try this Crack Chicken Chili. You can make it in a slow cooker or on the stove.
Gluten-Free Chili
Did you know that chili from a can, and some chili beans contain wheat as an ingredient? Yep. We love making gluten-free chili at home.
It's easier than most people think, less expensive to make than purchasing pre-made chili, and you can adjust it to fit your taste buds.
If you've ever wanted to throw a fall dinner party, here's the easiest way to do it (and it's super economical).
Host a Gluten-Free Chili Bar. You can have your toppings prepared, your gluten-free cornbread in the oven and your chili on the stove in less than thirty minutes. Easy-peasy.
This past fall we had a dinner party and invited twelve people over. I knew right away that I wanted to do some sort or buffet, or bar.
We've been loving all the Simple Truth Organic products and this past week Fred Meyer had a sale on the Simple Truth Organic canned goods, shredded cheeses, and meats.
They had everything I needed for a Gluten-Free Chili bar. I walked away with all the ingredients I needed to feed a group of twelve a delicious, organic meal.
I also snagged a few cute fall decorations to fancy-up the table I planned to serve from. But more on that later.
My family of four served a variety of toppings with our gluten-free chili including chopped tomatoes, sliced olives, green onion, shredded cheese, and sour cream.
That way our guests could make their chili the way they wanted it before grabbing a mini cornbread muffin.
Gluten-Free Chili Toppings
- Salsa
- Sour Cream
- Shredded Cheese
- Sliced Jalapenos
- Chopped Onion
- Sliced Green Onion
- Chopped Tomatoes
- Sliced Olives
All of the ingredients for the cornbread, chili, toppings, and drinks ran us just under $50.
How many people can say they fed a crowd of 12-16 people a homemade meal that was not only organic, but delicious and filling? Gluten-Free Chili is an expensive and easy meal.
Ordering pizza for twelve people could have cost you more depending on where you live and what kind of gluten-free pizza you ordered.
And let's be honest, pizza parties are easy but they aren't as fun (in my opinion).
Is chili gluten free?
Not all store-bought chili is gluten free. It's best to always check labels. To ensure your chili is gluten free it's best to make it from scratch.
That way you know what ingredients are going into it.

I just made this with a few subs and additions:
1. I opened up my paprika to find it infested with bugs. So I subbed tandoori powder.
2. I added smoked turkey wings for seasoning and, of course, deboned it and returned the meat, so this chili is beef and turkey.
3. I put in a couple cinnamon sticks.
4. I subbed the cayenne for a couple diced jalapenos.
5. For the diced tomatoes I used Hot Rotel.
It's VERY good!

I just made this last night and it is the most delicious chili recipe I’ve had! It’s got so many different complimentary ingredients going on that all go so well together!! Most Chili’s I have actually make me not LOVR chili, but this one really made me want to gobble some chili down now that it’s fall! Trust me, you have to try this one! It’s got some heat with the cayenne, but nothing at all too much. I can’t wait to make this again! Only sub a did was I was out of regular paprika so I used smoked paprika and it was soooo good. I also did mild chilis instead of hot since I tend to like mild-medium spicy things.
