No more scouring the grocery store shelves for this sauce, which is a household favorite for all casseroles, stews, veggies, and more.
Making your own sauces really is great as you have no added nasties, and it is relatively quick to make. This sauce has all the flavors you are used to, and I actually prefer it over store-bought varieties. It also stores so well that you can double or even triple the recipe.

Scouring the grocery store shelves is never fun searching for this sauce, but I have included some options if you need store-bought in a rush. IS WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE GLUTEN-FREE?
The original Worcestershire sauce has barley malt vinegar as a key ingredient that you can't have on a gluten-free diet. My sauce, however, doesn't have it in it, so it's gluten-free. Make sure all the ingredients you use are gluten-free by checking the labels.
HOW DO I STORE GLUTEN-FREE WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE?
You can store it in the refrigerator. I like to give it a good shake and then use it. It can last up to 1 year.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE AND SOY SAUCE?
Worcestershire sauce has vinegar, molasses, sugar, shallots and/or garlic, and spices like cloves or celery seed, whereas soy sauce has soybeans, wheat, salt, and a fermenting agent. Worcestershire sauce has a longer fermentation period than soy sauce.
WHAT CAN YOU USE INSTEAD OF WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE?
You can use any of the following, depending on what you are making:
- Fish sauce - It is not a bad second option, but check if the one you use is gluten-free.
- Soy sauce - This is a good second option, again, make sure it is gluten-free or use tamari soy sauce.
- Mix - Red vinegar or balsamic vinegar mixed with tamarind paste.
- Mix - You can also mix gluten-free soy sauce, ketchup, fish sauce, and tamarind paste to create something similar. I have not tried this mix yet.
